JIS Z 2371 塩水噴霧試験 - 腐食試験装置

2024年5月29日

Testing the durability and corrosion resistance of various materials is essential for materials science and quality control, and the JIS Z 2371 Salt spray testing method was developed for corrosion testing to help understand which machines are suitable for corrosion testing to obtain accurate test results. The JIS Z 2371 standard provides a detailed overview of salt spray laboratories for modeling and evaluating the corrosive effects of saline environments on materials. It describes equipment, test conditions, sample preparation and evaluation methods in detail, ensuring a standardized approach to corrosion testing.

3種類の塩水噴霧試験:

►NSS (neutral salt spray test)
Test to evaluate corrosion resistance by continuously spraying neutral sodium chloride solution in an atmosphere with a salt spray test device
►AASS (acetic acid salt spray test)
The test to evaluate the corrosion resistance is carried out in the atmosphere of continuously spraying acetic acid-acidified sodium chloride solution with a salt spray test device
►CASS (copper-accelerated acetic acid salt spray test)
Tests for the evaluation of corrosion resistance in an atmosphere in which sodium chloride solution acidified by acetic acid and added to copper chloride dihydrate was continuously sprayed by a salt spray test device

試験装置

The salt corrosion testing equipment for this test shall consist of a spray cabinet equipped with a mist dispersion tower or atomizer nozzle, a salt solution storage tank, a sample support, a mist collector, a salt solution storage tank, an air compressor, an air saturator, a temperature controller, an exhaust pipe, etc., and shall be as follows:
1. The cabinet should be able to make the distribution and temperature control of the spray solution uniform, and its shape and size can be selected. When the cabinet volume is less than 0.4m3, full attention should be paid to the distribution and temperature of the spray.
2. The mist dispersion tower and atomizer nozzle should be made of inert materials such as plastic, and should be able to evenly spray the solution on the specimen from the top of the spray cabinet.
3. When spraying, the spray solution should be circulated freely, and the direction of the spray dispersion tower or atomizer nozzle should be adjusted so that the spray solution does not fall directly on the sample. Fog dispersion towers are suitable for this purpose. The upper part of the cabinet shall be designed so that droplets of spray solution formed on the surface of the cabinet will not fall on the sample being tested.
4. The spray liquid and temperature in the spray cabinet should not be affected by the open air.
5. The specimen support shall be able to support the specimen at a specified Angle. Note: The specimen support should be made of or coated with inert material, such as plastic, and should support the specimen on the underside or side. The sample may be suspended by a glass hook or vinyl rope, provided that the sample can be held in the specified position without such support, in which case the sample should be supported on the bottom surface if necessary.
6.Temperature controls:The temperature near the sample support in the spray cabinet should be maintained at 35℃+2℃ for NSS and AASS tests and 50℃±2℃ for CASS tests. The temperature should be measured at least 100mm from the wall.

試験条件

The test conditions shall be as follows.
1. Before the test, fill the sample holder in the spray cabinet with fake samples made of inert materials such as plastic or glass, and check the test conditions as shown in Table 1.
2. After confirming that the test conditions are within the prescribed range, stop spraying the salt solution, remove the inert dummy sample from the sample support, mount the sample on the support, and start the test.
3. The sodium chloride concentration and pH value of the spray solution collected in each fog collector shall be within the range shown in Table 2. Note: For NSS test, under the condition of 25℃±2℃, the specific gravity measured by the densitometer is in the range of 1.029 ~ 1.036, then it is considered that the salt concentration of the spray solution meets the requirements.
4. The average collection rate of the spray solution in each fog collector shall be measured over a period of at least 24 hours of continuous spraying
5. The sprayed salt solution should not be reused.
6. During operation, the salt solution should be dust-free and isolated from the surrounding air to prevent the decrease of sodium chloride concentration and pH value

テスト期間

The test period shall be in accordance with the specifications of the tested material or product. If not specified, an agreement shall be made by the interested parties. The recommended exposure times are 2 hours, 6 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 96 hours, 168 hours, 240 hours, 480 hours, 720 hours, and 1,000 hours.
